The Nature of Electronic Charge

Advances in gauge theories and unified theories have not thrown light on the meaning of electron. The problem of the origin of electronic charge is made precise, new insights gained from Weyl space are summarized, and the origin of charge in terms of fractional spin is suggested. A new perspective on the abelian Chern-Simons theory is presented to explain charge.     

Magnetized cosmological models in bimetric theory of gravitation

Bianchi type-III magnetized cosmological model when the field of gravitation is governed by either a perfect fluid or cosmic string is investigated in Rosen’s [1] bimetric theory of gravitation. To complete determinate solution, the condition, viz., A=(BC) ⁿ , where n is a constant, between the metric potentials is used. We have assumed different equations of state for cosmic string [2] for the complete solution of the model. Some physical and geometrical properties of the exhibited model are discussed and studied.     

Thermal effects on parallel resonance energy of whistler mode wave

In this short communication, we have evaluated the effect of thermal velocity of the plasma particles on the energy of resonantly interacting energetic electrons with the propagating whistler mode waves as a function of wave frequency and L-value for the normal and disturbed magnetospheric conditions. During the disturbed conditions when the magnetosphere is depleted in electron density, the resonance energy of the electron enhances by an order of magnitude at higher latitudes, whereas the effect is small at low latitudes. An attempt is made to explain the enhanced wave activity observed during magnetic storm periods.     

Spin tunneling properties in mesoscopic magnets: effects of a magnetic field

The tunneling of a giant spin at excited levels is studied theoretically in mesoscopic magnets with a magnetic field at an arbitrary angle in the easy plane. Different structures of the tunneling barriers can be generated by the magnetocrystalline anisotropy, the magnitude and the orientation of the field. By calculating the nonvacuum instanton solution explicitly, we obtain the tunnel splittings and the tunneling rates for different angle ranges of the external magnetic field ( θ _H = π/2 and π/2 < θ _H < π). The temperature dependences of the decay rates are clearly shown for each case. It is found that the tunneling rate and the crossover temperature depend on the orientation of the external magnetic field. This feature can be tested with the use of existing experimental techniques. Received 12 March 2001 and Received in final form 18 October 2001     

磁场对四端量子波导中电子输运性质的影响

采用模匹配方法，研究了非均匀磁场下开放的四端量子波导中的电子输运性质. 结果表明，从一端入射的电子可以透射到两个与之垂直的输出端和一个与之平行的输出端. 在没有外加磁场的情况下，两个垂直输出端的输运概率是相同的，但垂直端与水平端的输运概率不同；在外加磁场下，由于磁边缘态效应，两个垂直输出端的输运概率也有着相当大的差别. 通过施加不同的磁场，我们能获得丰富的电子输运结构，如台阶，宽谷，尖峰等；通过调节磁场的大小和比例以及结构参数可控制该量子结构在各输出端的输运概率. 关键词： 电子输运 介观体系 磁效应     

纳米晶复合Pr2Fe14B/α-Fe永磁材料磁性的研究

脉冲磁场处理对碳纳米管掺杂MgB2线材临界电流密度的影响

对碳纳米管(CNT)掺杂MgB₂超导体磁场处理后的行为进行了研究. 结果表明，CNT掺杂MgB₂超导体经5T脉冲磁场处理后临界电流密度J_c(H)在低磁场下提高了2—3倍，高场下提高一个数量级以上，扫描电镜结果显示CNT沿着处理磁场方向规则排列并且成为MgB₂基体的形核中心和高效的磁通钉扎中心. 关键词： 2')" href="#">MgB₂ 碳纳米管 脉冲磁场处理     

Crystal field analysis of the magnetization curves of R2Fe17 and R2Fe17H3 (R=Tb,Ho,Er)

In this paper the values of the crystalline-electric-field parameters A_nm for R₂Fe₁₇ and R₂Fe₁₇H₃ (R=Tb,Ho,Er) are evaluated by fitting calculations to the magnetization curves measured on the single crystal at several temperatures. The fitted A_nm for R₂Fe₁₇ are strikingly different from those for the corresponding R₂Fe₁₇H₃. The energy gaps between the lowest four energy levels for Ho ions in Ho₂Fe₁₇₂ can be reproduced by using the fitted A_nm and exchange field 2μ_BH_ex, which estimated from the fit of the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization combined with inelastic neutron scattering experiment.     

不均匀磁化薄膜中静磁波对导波光的Bragg衍射

研究了横向不均匀偏置磁场作用下掺Bi的YIG薄膜中微波静磁波的激发和传播特性；采用变分方法计算了静磁正向体波的色散关系和交变磁化强度，分析了不均匀场对静磁波－导波光耦合的影响理论计算得到的衍射效率曲线与实验结果基本一致，表明适当不均匀场可以大大提高磁光Bragg器件的衍射性能.     

测量冷原子温度的理论与近似拟合公式的误差分析

对短程飞行时间法(tim e-of-flight,TOF)中推算冷原子温度的理论拟合公式与近似拟合公式进行了误差分析与比较。研究表明:对于使用短程飞行吸收光谱信号推测冷原子团温度,当探测光光斑半径与冷原子团高斯半径之比k小于0.2时,理论拟合公式和近似拟合公式能很好的相符,随着探测光光斑半径与冷原子团高斯半径比值的逐渐增大,用近似拟合公式所得TOF吸收信号与用理论拟合公式所得TOF吸收信号的误差也将逐渐增大,当比值为0.5时,用近似拟合公式所得TOF吸收信号的误差将增大到20%。
